i have so many things i want to say about my trip and i cannot even begin.
so let me share my favourite pictures.

but we all know pictures never do the slightest justice to any place.
its all up here, in my memory. oh yes tantalise the oh sweet rememberance!
and oh the delights of travelling, the journey in itself
now and in the future..

some random french tourists on the staten ferry

manhattan at sunset

ok i had to put in the cliche times square shot too, oh not who would believe i'm in new york!

brooklyn bridge.
[i lost a few extremely nice photos here because of sizing and rotating disfunctions of the computer, SO PISSED OFF. ARGH)

onward to washington dc!
for some unexplainable reason, i like trees without their leaves more than with them on.
oh yes, i suppose u can say i like trees in winter

look ma i'm here at the capitol!

i do not actually know why i'm so drawn to this house,
maybe its the contrast of the peeling walls of paint and its immaculate, well manicured garden.
its intriguing to me, to say the least.
as i walk past i was wondering what kind of people lived in there, what kindna lives they led and whether they had a poodle that was as immaculately taken care of as well. so random are the thoughts of a passer by.

union station. (author's note: a friggin train station!)

the words of a child that evoked sympathy and an overwhelming sense of loss.
i can only imagine what he went through
RIP

when will we ever learn that,

Que La Paz Prevalezca En La Tierra.

on a separate note: ¿Mi amor,qué tal? ¡Te extraño!

friends vs the opportunity of posh and glamour.
dirty rotten luck at avenue q vs incredible coincidence and luck at the drowsy chaperon - a sleeper hit indeed!
hello softie vs comfortable softie.
the mental exhaustion of the met vs the physical exhaustion of the end of the day.
dan3 ta4 at mott vs dan3 ta4 at canal,
orignial+egg white+almond+black sesame+green tea+honey dew+strawberry+banana+portugese.
chinese inspired flavours of icecream in chinatown vs random cake and desserts.
jewish bakery vs italian bakery vs jacques torres vs mariebelle vs homemade goodies randomly around.
oh how we are tormented by choices!

let just have some pictures.

i walk everywhere in new york.
most days, i walk for hours on end.

the first day i started off at washington square garden.

i went to many places and saw many things, but
this was my favourite place of the day - battery park along the hudson river.

and in it, i saw my favourite thing of the day - Ape & Cat (at the dance) by Jim Dine 1996

and i rest my weary feet in the pews, where this amazing concert was playing at
the trinity church on wall street.

over the next few days, i didn't feel like pictures.
but after brunch on sunday, i felt compelled to take the Tiles of America.

and my personal favourites were,

and

subwayed to central park, and found the lakes.

everyone knows about the hustle and bustle of new york, i like to show you the quiet bits.
of course there's the multi ethnicity people, the seemingly never ending avenues of skyscrapers and the uncountable ways to spend your time.
and then, there were others.

i always need my quiet time.

i think no matter what age we become, you'll always be the kid.
i know it's not necessary at all, but be good anyway.
like you've always been.

met with the people that mattered.
made something for someone that matters.
had fine meals and fineeee meals.
how can anyone not enjoy hawker food? mmmmmmm yum.
emails and calls, so far so good. A+
one more breakfast with the missy,
packing and mum time tomorrow and its time to leave.

i've been watching jap/korean videos on youtube all day,
and i'm totally wrapped in my own little asian bubble
j entered my room to get me for dinner and i looked up and gone "woah i'm in australia where people speak english'
it made me realise, that no matter how long i stay here,
i'll always love asia,
the languages, esp japanese. mmm love! the cringe worthy (ie uber sweet but funny) script lines,
the cute asian guys with long hair,
yum.
give me a jap drama over lost anyday.
oh wait, but grey's anatomy.... and house...
dammit.
