tis was a gooooood weekend, had heaps of fun!
saturday was spend under the sun,
playing international rules ie a game that's a combinations of soccer + rugby + afl
(australian football league aka as footy here. it's played with a rugby shaped ball, can be kicked and passed forward. scoring is to kick it between 4 poles at the end of the field. the outer two have less points, inner two has more points. think rugby field and scoring posts. it is a very fast and exciting game)
anyway, played that but wasn't really helpful to the team cause the boys were damn violent!
they were like tackling and heading each other! erp.
there was one time i caught the ball and i had like 5-8 people charging towards me *cringe
so i quickly got rid of it. haha but ultimately it was a good afternoon.
then went to collect the photos ben and i developed and pasted them over my walls.
looking good! was nice to see so many familiar faces. hee singapore faces =)
then the bonfire at night was awesome! the fire brigade came to start the fire safely..
it was burning up so nicely! and it was cool to just stand in front of it and feel all toasty.
its like you stand in front of the fire then the front side of your body gets hot then your back is cold from the coolness behind you. so i had to keep turning to prevent myself from burning. haha some people bought some firecrackers/mini fireworks thing, quite cool.
there was also this silly dude who broke the lightstick thing and smeared the liquid all over his hands and shoes so he was literally glowing! then someone smeared it all over a ball and some of the guys started playing footy. all you can see on the field was the glowing ball. hA!
[cause the bonfire was at the side] everyone was just chilling, talking, dancing, drinking. matt [from downstairs] was the dj for the night and he kept the music pumping! good stuff.
had like 5 beers then got too hungry [they had a barbi or barbe or barbee *aussie slang. ok don't know how to spell it but you get the idea, bbq* but only had steak! cause they were only serving steak sandwiches. so all i ate was the bread. HOW SAD LA] anyway, got myself a bowl of noodles and got ready to go out...soon everyone started coming back from the bonfire and fixing snacks before heading out. then soon everyone was getting ready and everyone had their music on! so you go into anyroom, cd players, computers, laptops were all pumping dance, trance, rnb, rock music. everyone was just hyping it up! so people starting dancing from room to room and you could hear groove armada from one room, dance to another room and hear barry white and go into another you hear paul van dyke.. loving it! all of us called for cabs and all headed for a club called launies and just danced the night away........ had a couple more drinks and was really feeling into it. ok so the club is really plain and no frills at all, just two main areas for dancing and a couple of bars here and there but the music was good. and the good thing was they played the music video just as they are playing the music as well? ahhh sweeeeeeeet. then we got tired, left and took a walk round town and headed homeeeeeeee.
ah. it was nice just talking about it! haha next time out will be 7th may. CAT EMPIRE is playing. they are this really amazing aussie band. go check out their music! so cool, they use like brass instruments and everything in their music, i heard them on someone's computer a couple of weeks back and i was like "ohhhhhhhh, niceeeeeeeee...." haha then found out they're coming down to tassie! great. can't wait for cat empire at the saloon! [another club]
